Fundraising as part of team: Royal Parks Half Marathon 2021

My Story

Hi everyone!

On Sunday 10th October, 2021, I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon!

I will be raising money for the Thomas's Foundation. Any contribution will be fantastic, thank you! Please do continue to read to find out about their amazing work ......

Thomas’s Foundation is driven by the belief and vision that every child deserves an enriching education.

Thomas's Foundation provides educational opportunities for children in the local communities of Thomas’s London Day Schools located in Battersea, Clapham, Fulham and Kensington and, overseas, in the remote hill villages of rural Nepal.

Thomas's Foundation delivers its vision through three core projects:

● Foundation Bursaries

● Community Partnerships

● CAIRN

Thomas’s Foundation addresses the reality that many primary school children in our local community have limited access to broader opportunities such as art, music, drama, sport, outdoor learning, STEM, literacy, and language. Programmes have been developed to give pupils access to inspiring and stimulating educational opportunities, which build self-esteem and encourage a love of learning.

Examples of local community activities and funding needs:

£2,200 - 1 year of Swimming lessons for a class £1,800 - 1 year of Drama lessons for a class £1200 - 1 year of Art lessons for 1 class

£1000 - After school football coaching

£875 - A music scholarship for 1 year

£100 - An instrument for a music scholar

£100 - Year of singing lessons for one child /weekly computer club for one child

£75 - Day of Pathway programme for one child

£50 - Year of swimming lessons for one child/term of pottery lessons/term of trumpet lessons £25 - Farm visit for one child

£10 - A set of reading books for the Readers' Cup

CAIRN, established in 2007 is dedicated to ensuring children in Nepal have the opportunity to access an enriching education. CAIRN strives to improve education for the most disadvantaged children through sending the poorest pupils to school with all the equipment they need; providing access to books through CAIRN Libraries and improving the quality of teaching through its teacher training programme.
